Amazon Listing CheckerCheck a listing

Amazon main image requirements

The main image is the only listing asset every shopper sees, and the one Amazon polices hardest. The six rules below account for nearly every suppression event. Run your file through the checker — it verifies resolution, square ratio, corner-sampled white background and file size locally in your browser.

1

Pure white background

RGB 255,255,255 is the letter of the rule; near-white usually passes the algorithm but can flag in category reviews.

2

Product fills 85%+ of the frame

Tiny product on a vast white field reads as low-effort and can be suppressed in some categories.

3

Square, edge to edge

The image must fill the square frame — no letterboxing, no borders drawn inside.

4

≥1000px longest side (zoom)

Below 1000px the listing loses zoom entirely; 1600px+ is the practical standard for a usable zoom experience.

5

No props, no text, no logos, no watermarks

Only the product for sale. Accessories shown must ship with it.

6

File ≤ 10 MB, JPEG preferred (TIFF/PNG accepted)

Oversized files fail upload; PNG with transparency can render oddly against the white mandate.

Requirements vary slightly by category and change without notice — Seller Central’s image requirements page is the authority. This site’s checker implements the widely-published core rules and tells you exactly which checks passed, so re-verifying takes seconds.
